No need to go into too much details right now. Simply try to write something on the screen. You are quickly going to discover the twist: the background scrolls as you write!
Relax... You are experiencing something new, something you never did before, not quite. You are writing on a paper and the paper is moving as you write. That plus the fact that you are using your finger instead of a pen makes the whole experience... stimulating! :)
At this stage, we usually recommend to draw some circles. It might sound a bit dull but this is the easiest way to get an intuition of what's hapening. so try to make some circles, make them round, make small ones, big ones, start slowly then go faster.
At first, you might feel like this auto-scroll system is a bit awkward.
Listen: we have seen a vast number of people handwriting with iJot and the success rate is 100%, everybody makes it in the end. And the funny thing is that it doesn't seem to depend on your age, your gender or your nationality... My mother and my son are much better at it than I am!
Please allow me to challenge you: make up a sentence in your head and write it 5 times in a row. You will be shocked to see how fast you have improved.
Adjust the Scrolling Pace:
During this process you might realize that the background doesn't scroll exactly as you would like to. There is a settings to help you with this:
|
|
1: Click on the settings button,
2: Choose the speed-settings sub-menu.
Three default speeds are available.
... For a more precise control, click on the additional customized speed button.
|
|
This interface is
extremely important. It allows you to set the speed of the scrolling background so that it matches your writing style. Three default speed settings are available: slow, medium and fast. The fourth button is an advanced settings (learn more about it in the
Reference Manual.
On one hand this is very important to know that this interface is there, waiting for you to adapt
iJot to your personal style. On the other hand, you may choose to learn a bit more about
iJot first. Once you are more comfortable with writing messages, you will know the most suitable speed settings for you.
Are you satisfied with the content of your message? If yes, this is time to work on its form. Let's have a look at your creation: press the
done button and go to the Preview Page.
Tweak it!
The Preview Page automatically formats your message and allows you change its appearance in many different ways.

Check out of the examples in our
Hall Of Fame. Here's one of them:
Once you're done with the polishing your message, it's time to decide what you want to do with it:
If you just want to keep it, you're done: messages are automatically saved, so just go back to List Page by clicking on iJot.
To delete the message, click on the bin.
If you want to save it as a picture in the photo album or send it by Email, press the Action button to open this interface:

2: Send message as MMS,
3: Copy message to pasteboard (useful to reply to email with iJot),
4: Export message in Photo Album.
|
|
Here's a couple of useful remarks related to sending the message:
Clicking on "eMail" will create a new Email...
But you can also reply to an existing Email by choosing "copy", close iJot, open the Email application and then paste the image where you like.
MMS only works with iPhone. Unfortunately, this is a bit clumsy at the moment: iJot will open the MMS application for you but you will need to import the image yourself
